Irene’s Story: Help For Patients Without Health Insurance

Because Irene Hurley had no health insurance, she was concerned she would not find the care she needed to treat her asthma and bronchitis. Now, Irene has a medical home at the Chicago Family Health Center. Fees for health care provided at the center are determined on a sliding scale, taking into account each person’s ability to pay. “There’s help out there,” Irene says.
