Family Health Insurance That Is Affordable?
Does anyone know of any family health insurance that is affordable.. my husbands gets laid of in the winter and we need to be able to afford it ..
If he is laid off before 12/31/09 and works at a company with 20+ employees, he is eligible for the COBRA tax credit. You only pay 35% of the COBRA cost. The company bills the rest back to the government.

As a dentist, I feel that any private ins. which will cost any more than the cost of 2 cleanings and a set of x-rays per year is too much. Most private,individual ins. plans will have too many limitations(waiting period,small max. allowable per year,limiting which dentists you can see, etc.) making the cost of the ins. ineffective. Talk to YOUR dentist to find out if this is true before buying a private,individual plan. You will probably be better off paying dental out of pocket. Dental ins. is not the same as medical ins. due to max. allowable per year etc. It is more like prepaying for your dental work. There is no benefit in paying the dentist and the ins. co. together(unless you have a large group plan).

health-quotes.isgreat.org – my family have this health insurance. It is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.
